All of our activities operate under the Laing O’Rourke Safety, Health & Environmental Policy. Each item in our fleet is regularly tested and maintained and has a seventy point pre-delivery inspection before dispatch in accordance with this policy. Our personnel are qualified and certified and we back this demand for highly trained staff with regular training, self improvement and refresher courses.

Safety inductions and mandatory tool box talks for our employees are carried out regularly and operatives must go through a competency test periodically either internally or by a third party. All employees have been issued with a permit card which describes their skills and competency level and ensures they only operate machinery they are trained to use reducing safety concerns on site.

COSHH training is provided for all employees handling hazardous substances and NEBOSH/IOSH training is obligatory for supervisors and managers. Appointed safety personnel and pre-delivery inspectors are responsible for safety inspections and reporting to our customers.

Employees who work in critical operations, e.g. tower crane erectors, are fully screened by our medical staff and drivers assessed periodically.
